Sevenly, A Company That Gives Back

Hi lovelies! I hope you all had an amazing Easter weekend!

Yesterday was my mom’s 50th birthday, so we spent the later part of the day with her and watched Silas hunt for Easter eggs all over her backyard, it was seriously the cutest thing ever. Spending time with my family is my absolute favorite thing to do.

I always get excited when I find companies that give back. I was approached by Sevenly, for a collaboration, and I honestly couldn’t have said yes fast enough. If you aren’t familiar with the company, Sevenly is a company that sells apparel and accessories. They were founded in 2011, with a belief that “people matter”. For every product sold they donate $7 to various charities.

Sevenly supports many different causes such as Autism, Education, Military, Cancer and more. As I mentioned earlier, when I was asked to work with Sevenly I could not say yes fast enough. The reason being, two of their causes had a very special place in my heart.

Many of you don’t know that I have a nephew with Down Syndrome. My sister had him when she was just 18 years old and had no idea he had Down Syndrome until she gave birth. Needless to say, our whole family was rocked. Thankful he was 100% healthy, many children with Down Syndrome can have heart and/or digestive problems, which can be super scary. But all his tests came back A OK.

I truly believe children with Down Syndrome are God’s angels. My nephew has brought so much joy to our lives and has opened our eyes to so much. The t-shirt I picked out says “Blessings Not Burden” I think sometimes people see a person with disabilities as a bad thing. I remember my sister telling me a story about telling a Dr. that Chase (my nephew) had Down Syndrome and she said “I’m Sorry” Without skipping a beat my sister replied  “I’m Not” He has never been a burden and will never be a burden. When I look at him I don’t see a child with Down Syndrome, I see a sweet, loving, sometimes ornery, pure-hearted little boy who loves life. I was so happy to hear that the proceeds from this campaign were going to the NDSS Buddywalk because Chase has actually participated in one and had a blast.

The second cause extremely close to my heart is the Military. You may or may not know that my husband served in the United States Army. I can’t even begin to describe how grateful I am for the men and women who serve and protect us and our country. It brings tears to my eyes when I think about those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and my heart aches for those fallen heroes loved ones. I am so thankful that my husband was safe and sound during his time in the military because I know that is not always the case. I have seen first hand how hard the military can be on an individual and trust me when I say they endure a lot.
